Mimi’s received over $10,000 in cash and donations!
We would like to thank everyone who came out to help us celebrate another successful year of fundraising and the presentation of the check to Mimi’s Pantry! We enjoyed a sack lunch at Mimi’s, met their staff and board members and learned more about their organization.
We want to give a special thanks to Speed Pro for donating and installing the new Job Resource Center inside the facility! If you are an employer or know anyone who is hiring, we would like to you to bring applications to Mimi’s Pantry so that they are made available to possible new hires. Besides job applications, we would appreciate any information about and resources to help job seekers, such as writing resumes, interview tips and on-line sites to search for open positions.
We are proud of all our members and supporters that helped us this year. Despite the constant changes, cancellations, quarantining, and social distancing we found a way to serve our community and provide support to a very worth-while non-profit organization. Food insecurity has been a problem in our community and Covid-19 has magnified the problem. Mimi’s Pantry has had to adapt and find ways to meet the growing need while keeping their staff and clients safe from the virus. It is the sponsors, donors and volunteers at Mimi’s that have made it possible for families to come and shop for food and be treated with dignity in their most trying times. Since they opened their doors last summer these are the following results.
- June 1 -Dec 31, 2019 we served 2829 families (8,448 individuals)
- Jan 1-Aug 27 we have served 3,686 families (10,663 individuals)
Making the totals served: 6,515 families and (19,111 individuals)
Another impactful statement is that for $5 you can feed an individual for nearly a week so your $10,000 will feed 2,000 individuals for an entire week.
It has been a pleasure to work with the Mimi’s Pantry team and we are proud to have presented over 10,000 in cash and donations. The need is still great, and we thank you for them tremendous service to our community.
